After my “a little morning walk in the park” blog, I thought for sure I would jump into my next adventure with the Fujifilm X-E1. I had visions of walking around downtown Manassas in the evening just see how I would enjoy shooting with the X-E1. The evenings were just too cold for me to actually enjoy so I thought I wait.
The waiting was finally over a couple of Saturday’s ago. As I was waited I’d purchased the Fujinon XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM IOS lens. The lens has a focal length range of 27-84mm (equivalent to the 35mm format). To go out and shoot alone, especially when the sun begins to set, downtown Manassas is the place for me. Years ago I use to take my camera, tripod and just shoot wherever. With the changing of the world I feel a little comfortable walking around with my camera and a lens or two. Setting up a camera/tripod early morning or late in the evening requires me to be with others so we can protect each other. Safety first.
I wanted my walk around to be late in the evening whereas I had to adjust my ISO starting at 1600. I also wanted the shutter speed to be no slower than 1/60th of a second to shoot hand-held and create quality photographic images.
Here are some of my images from my walk around. All images are RAW and where taken with the camera in manual mode. So if you’re walking around late in the evening and still want to take photographs, give it a try.
